The Wacky World of Webkinz

Today, I guess across America, is Webkinz Day. For anyone who does not know what these are, they are overpriced stuffed animals that come with a secret code and the child gets on the web site and is able to play games and communicate with others who collect as well.
My friend Chris and I took Ella this mornig to Village Merchant as soon as it opened because it is buy one..get one...which means everyone in Grove City would be there. And of course you have to be one of the first to make sure you get the animals you want.
As you can see, everyone was very happy with what they got. I even shopped for Anita (Ella's mom) so Steven could get some and use some as gifts for birthday's. This is the biggest thing since beenie babies. These kids go nuts over it and if they are not on the computer playing by themselves, they are chatting to one another on the phone to discuss what they got to do in "Webkinz World".
Well, I tell you what....Ben is the only animal I want to take care of. He is so much better than any webkinz. He laid in bed and watched Grey's with me last night (yea...it's back) and we discussed how mad we are at Meredith. He feels my pain over that show!! (really, he might be in it for the belly rub)
This is Corey's collection, minus what he got today. As we speak, Buzz is on his way with the kids to atttend a Webkinz extravagazana. They have special prizes and games..chances to win things. I am actually going out with big people and NO WEBKINZ!! Yeah me!!
Anyone else going through the same thing?????????????????????

A Day at "The Shoe"......

Today was The Ohio State University spring game. It was so great to enjoy this time with friends and family. Don and Trish were suppose to come, but thanks to SkyBus, that did not happen. Anywho...Todd, Buzz the kids and me met up with my friend Chris and her family for an afternoon of football. Before the game we enjoyed the band, cheerleaders and of course Brutus.
Here is Sk and I showing our Buckeye spirit with Brutus....Go Bucks!!
Here is Chris and her daughter Kaitlin. She is Sk's BFF. They are totally "sisters" in everyway. But they have fun together! I was so glad they got to se Brutus. These are things they will never forget!
Here is The Best Damn Band In The Land performing for the pre-game. It is so much fun cause they add so much excitement to the game!
Well, I tried to rotate this photo with no luck so this is my brother Todd and I. This picture was for our brother Don. We know how bad he wanted to be here so we wanted to make sure he knew we had a good time for him (haha). He won't think this is so funny!!
So, inclosing...how many more days till fall ball????????
O...H...I...O.....Go Buckeyes!!!!!!

A day at the zoo..and I brought my own monkeys!!

My brother Todd, from Jacksonville is up for a week so we let the kids stay home from school to spend the day with him. We decided to head off to the Columbus Zoo..and yes...we brought our own monkey's!! Corey loves the sea life and this picture of him with the Sting was so cool!!
This is Uncle Todd, Ella Grace, Sarah Kate & Corey outside of the lion's den. Sarah Kate and Ella kept saying.."come here kitty". If they only realized that "kitty" would eat them in a moment's notice!!
As you all know, Ella is not mine by nature, but we love her all the same. It is very natural to take her with us as a family because in so many ways, she is a part of our family. She has loved teasing "Uncle Todd" as she refers to him.
Here are our monkey girls on a sharks back. These two have become like sisters. Despite the fact that they act so much alike, they get along very well and love each other very much.
Corey loves to go touch the snakes...unlike me or Todd. He must get that from his dad. He sees something new everytime we go to the zoo.

So, despite the fact they missed school, I would still say that it was a day of learning. Not only about the animals, but of each other as well.

Relay For Life

Hey guys.......I wanted to ask you all to help me make my goal of 250.00 for Relay for Life. The relay is on June 20th and all donations have to be in my account by June 19th. A ten dollar donation goes a long way in helping those with this disease. Relay has been somethng that has been on my heart to do, but it never really hit close to home until my dad was diagnosed a few months ago.
Mom and dad came up after I had surgery and spent Christmas with us. While he was here, we took him to the doctor for a cold and unknown to us all, he had a growth in his ear. When he got back to Florida, he had to have it scraped and it tested positive for a malignant cancer. He started radiation last week and is doing great.
We are so greatful to those who have a desire, not only to help because they know someone like my dad, but just help out of the goodness of their hearts. If it is laid on your heart to help me reach me goal, it is easy to do so. A ten dollar donation is easy to give online @ grovecityrelayforlife.com. Under participant, you enter :Debbie Wilson and online giving is available under my name. Your name will be placed on a luminary at the relay and you can give in honor or memory of someone. Please help me...help others......

Saying goodbye.......

Well, as you all know we got another dog last week. She is really cute, but things are not working out so well. She has snipped at Sk and now she is growling at Ella Grace. As many of you know, we have alot of kids in and out of the house and I can not risk having a child bitten.
I warned Sk yesterday and so tomorrow morning, Isaboo is going back. I tried to do the right thing and save a dog who needed ahome, but not at the risk of a child. Please pray that Sk deals with this well and adjusts to not having Isaboo around.
ben on the other hand will be greatful to have his home back!!

Welcome Home Isaboo.....

Well everyone, we want you to meet Isaboo. She is the newest addition to our family. Sarah Kate has been asking, more like begging for another dog for almost a year. Buzz and I finally broke down.
We got online and found her from a vet assistant in Circleville today. She is a little over a year old and is a beagle mix. She came in the door, gave Ben a big kiss and has spent the evening getting use to her new home.
She had been home for about two hours when these photo's were taken. As you can see, Ben is adjusting well. He has been given lots of extra love and does not seem to mind her. If you are wondering about the name, Sarah Kate loves Rachel Ray and wanted to name her dog after Rachel's. Once again..too much food network???? Amy and Emma came over tonight to meet her and Amy even got her to sit on command...after much prompting and treats!!
Well, I guess it has been a big day for everyone! She is a sweet little thing and are excited to share our home with her.

TIP: By stock in CVS........

Well guys, it has been an interesting couple of weeks. I started off two weeks ago with a cough..runny nose...typical stuff. I went to the doctor last Thursday and he gave me drugs for a sinus infection so I was hoping I was on my way to recovery. On Sunday, I felt myself slipping downward and by 8:00 pm had a 104 fever. By Monday morning, Buzz and I both had the flu so needless to say we both traveled to the doctor (blind leading the blind!)
We both began to feel better yesterday afternoon and then the school called to say Sarah Kate had a 102 fever......so here we go again.....back to CVS for meds for her. So far, Corey has not become affected. Sk however..seems to just hold onto the fever so I pray by tomorrow that lifts and we can all have a day without thermometers...
So, after many prescribtions..by stock in CVS...you can thank us later......
